What is FurBall?
FurBall is an algorithm designed by Cat Media Ltd. that uses advanced techniques such as:
Tokenization: Breaking down text into smaller units, such as words or characters
Normalization: Converting text into a standard form, such as lowercase or removing punctuation
Levenshtein distance: Measuring the similarity between two strings based on the number of edits required to transform one into another
Jaccard index: Measuring the overlap between two sets of tokens based on their intersection and union
Cosine similarity: Measuring the angle between two vectors representing text documents based on their term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF) values.
FurBall also uses machine learning to learn from your feedback and improve its accuracy over time.
Is FurBall available for download?
We appreciate your interest in FurBall, our innovative data-matching tool. At the moment, FurBall is only offered as a managed service by our team at Cat Media. This means that we take care of everything for you, from setting up the tool to running the data-matching tasks. However, we are also working on developing a new version of FurBall that will allow you to use it by yourself on the cloud, on your own computer or on your organisation's Linux or Windows server. This will give you even more flexibility and control over your data-matching projects. We hope that this will make FurBall more accessible and useful for a wider range of users and organizations.
